Swami Nigmanand's brother alleges threat to family

The elder brother of Swami Nigamanand, who died on June 13 after a four-month-long fast to protest illegal quarrying and mining, has lodged a complaint with police apprehending threat to his family from a Haridwar-based seer and others, police said.

Satyan Kumar Ashish, elder brother of Swami Nigamanand, has also demanded adequate security for his family alleging threat from Swami Shivanand, the seer of Haridwar-based Matrisadan, and others, they said.

Darbhanga IG RK Mishra said that a thorough probe has been ordered into the threat perception. "We have taken the complaint seriously and asked the local police to thoroughly investigate the case," he said.

Mishra also promised adequate security to the complainant's family.
