The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has cleared 294 proposals worth Rs1.43 lakh crore during the Nitish Kumar-led NDA rule in the state.

State industries minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav told PTI today that the state attracted investments worth around Rs2,000 crore so far against 294 proposals worth Rs1.43 lakh crore cleared by state investment promotion board.

Yadav said power projects constituted the bulk of investment proposals but unavailability of coal linkages had delayed many of them.

"But the Nalanda power plant and a unit of gas infrastructure are likely to start generation in 2010-11," he said.

Yadav further said out of 109 food processing units approved, 17 had started production and 60% of work had been completed in another seven proposed units.

"IL and FS is in contact with some Kolkata parties to set up a food park here," he added.
