At least six people were injured on Wednesday when an explosive device went off in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, police said.

"Six people have been injured in the explosion but all of them are out of danger. The explosion has probably been caused by a grenade left in the area after a recent encounter," Senior Superintendent of Police for Pulwama Amit Kumar said.

Two militants, including a Jaish-e-Mohammad commander, were killed in a 20-hour gunbattle which also left an army officer injured in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir last week.
