Six contestants in fray for five Rajya Sabha seats in Bihar

Six candidates are in the fray for election to the five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar to be held on June 17, Bihar Assembly secretary-cum returning officer Surendera Sharma said today.

No candidate withdrew his nomination today, the last date for withdrawal of nomination, Sharma said.

The candidates are - Ram Chandra Prasad Singh and Upendra Kushwaha (JD-U), Ram Vilas Paswan and Ram Kripal Yadav (LJP-RJD combine), Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP) and BG Uday (independent), Sharma said.

A candidate required 41 votes for victory in the ensuing Rajya Sabha polls, the Returning Officer said.
