Copies of vehicle and police logbooks, injury certificates & entries in diaries submitted.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Gulbarg society massacre case on Wednesday produced documents including certified copies of vehicle logbooks, entries in station diaries, police logbooks, injury certificates of witnesses in the case and a copy of CDs made by journalist Ashish Kaitan, before the court.
Prosecution lawyer Naina Bhatt said, “As per the court directive, the SIT produced vital documents including the mobile print out details of all police officers above the rank of police inspectors (PI).”
The mobile print out details of officers, above the rank of PI including DySP, ACP, JCP and others, have information about calls made by them during the time of the incident. Sources said that mobile print out details of these officers will be vital for the prosecution. Bhatt said the SIT also produced the copy of CDs made by journalist Ashish Kaitan. The CD was made after the incident.
Earlier, special court judge BU Joshi had directed the SIT to conduct further investigation into various aspects of the Gulbarg society massacre and directed the SIT to submit all reports by October 7. The court has directed the SIT to produce the landline phone records and mobile print out of all the accused, victims and advocates including slain MP Ahesan Jafri.
However, the SIT pleaded inconvenience in submitting the landline phone records and mobile phone records as neither BSNL nor the other cellular companies keep phone records for more than a year.
The investigating agency also produced a letter from BSNL and other cellular companies in this connection. On Thursday the court will verify whether the SIT has complied with its earlier order and has submitted the documents in this connection.
