Protesting the killing of Sikhs by Pakistani Taliban, a group of BJP activists today held a demonstration near the Pakistan High Commission here demanding better security for Indians living there.

The activists led by senior BJP leader VK Malhotra submitted a memorandum to the officials in the High Commission and wanted action from the authorities to bring the culprits to book.

Two Sikhs, who were kidnapped for ransom, were found beheaded by the Taliban in Pakistan's restive tribal belt yesterday.

"It is a very ghastly act and in the memorandum we have demanded punishment to the guilty as well as protection for the minorities," Malhotra said.

Accusing the Centre of not taking the issue seriously, he said the government should put diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to ensure protection of the minorities there.

Addressing the gathering, Malhotra said minority communities living in Pakistan are completely unsafe as they are being subjected to 'jiziya' tax and forced to accept Islam.

Demanding immediate steps by the Pakistani government to provide proper security to the minorities there, Delhi BJP chief OP Kohli said if they do not take measures urgently the forthcoming talks between the two countries should be cancelled.
