Several mines exploded along the Line of Control when a fire broke out in the area, defence officials said today.
    
The fire which broke out from Kulgori forest belt in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir close to the Line of Control in Balakote belt of Poonch district last night has now been controlled, they added.
    
The fire spread to this side of LoC in Cheer, Rani Tikri and Chatali forest belts in Balakote and as a result of which several mines planted along the borderline to counter infiltration exploded, they said.
    
"The fire has been extinguished this morning and there was no loss of life or injury to any jawan posted along the forward areas along LoC," Brigadier General of Staff Gurdeep Singh told PTI.
