Securityman killed in Bihar during bandh called by Maoists

A security man was killed, five were injured and a goods train was derailed in separate incidents when Maoists allegedly planted bombs during a day-long 'Bharat Bandh' called by them against the visit of US President Barack Obama.
 
The state military police personnel was killed when he made an unsuccessful bid to defuse a powerful bomb planted at the Banke Bazar block office in Gaya, senior superintendent of police Amit Lodha said.
 
Five others, including two women, were injured. They were admitted to hospital where the condition of two was stated to be critical, he said.
 
In Muzaffarpur, ten wagons of a goods train derailed after Maoists blew up railway track with dynamite near Kurhani railway station, DGP Neelmani said.
 
The wagons derailed from damaged tracks, disrupting rail services since 3am. Trains were diverted from Hajipur to Muzaffarpur via the Sahpur-Patori station, he said.
 
Rail traffic was restored after the bomb disposal squad checked the tracks, he said.
 
In Gaya, a gun-battle also took place between security forces and maoists. Four trucks and two mobile towers were also torched by the rebels in the same district, officials said, adding there were no causalities in these incidents.
 
In Gaya, four trucks were burnt down by nearly 100 ultras in the wee hours in Amas area, the DGP said.
 
In another incident from the same district, heavily armed ultras exchanged fire with security personnel at Maigra high school in Dumaria area.
 
There was no casualty, official sources said, adding, Maoists blasted two mobile towers at Madanpur and Rafiganj in Aurangabad district since midnight.
