The traditional habit of saving money by people helped the country up to some extent to withstand the global financial crisis, BJP's national treasurer and MP Ramdas Agrawal said today.

Though government plays a vital role through their policies, but it is our habit of saving money which helped the country to remain unaffected during financial meltdown, he told reporters here.

Agrawal said at the time when global economies were hit by the financial crisis, India remained unaffected to some extent due to saving habits of Indians.

"Now, inflation is a big challenge before the government," he said, asking both the BJP and Congress to work together to control the situation.

Blaming the Rajasthan government for showing false dreams in the name of making the Pink City a world class city, he said the dream may not come true as the government's financial status was not good enough.

When asked about BJP's performance, Agrawal said the party would grow under the leadership of Nitin Gadkari.

"The party would prosper in the able leadership of Nitin Gadkari, and we hope he would take appropriate decision regarding any crisis within the party," he said.

Asked about the relationship between RSS and BJP, Agrawal said: "RSS is a organisation which works on ideology. It does
not control the BJP but goes along with the party when there is some issue related to the ideology," he said.
