Delhi public works department minister Raj Kumar Chauhan today said the state government was ready for any probe into the appropriation of money for the Commonwealth Games projects and departments have already been instructed to prepare the details.

As a government-ordered probe begins into the conduct of the Games, the minister welcomed it saying the Delhi government's conduct has been clean and it will support any investigation to nail the wrongdoers.

"The probe is welcome. All the money that comes through tax is of the common man and if there is any corruption, it shall be probed," Chauhan said in New Delhi.

A day after curtains came down on the mega sporting event that has come under the scanner for allegations of misappropriation of public money, the government constituted a committee to look into its conduct.

The high-level committee set up by the government is headed by former comptroller and auditor general (CAG) VK Shungloo and it will look into the organising and conduct of the Games.

"Already our departments have been told to prepare details of all the projects and if any inquiry is done by the CVC or CAG or any other department, we will support it," Chauhan said.

He said the accounts of all that the Delhi government departments have done are available and that all estimates and sanctions are first cleared by the cabinet.

"All the budgets of the Delhi government are always under scrutiny," Chauhan said.
