Pressure on India to resolve Kashmir issue: Separatist leader Mirwaiz

Separatist leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq today said pressure was mounting on India to solve the lingering Kashmir problem.

"The international community has been putting pressure on India to resolve the long-pending Kashmir issue," he told a gathering at his residence here soon after his arrival from a week-long tour abroad.

The chairman of the moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference attended a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Conference(OIC) in New York.

Mirwaiz, a softliner, has convened a meeting of the amalgam's Executive Council on October six to brief members about his visit.
