Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today declined to comment on BJP leader Arun Jaitley's observation dubbing the "truce" between him and Home Minister P Chidambaram on the 2G note controversy as a "farce".

"I am not commenting on anybody, any individual. If you have a general issue then ask me," he told reporters here on his arrival from New Delhi when his reaction was sought on Jaitley's statement.

When a reporter asked him whether he had offered to resign, Mukherjee said "these are all bumkum. If you do not have any serious question, then I am sorry."

Jaitley, the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, said in the national capital earlier in the day that "it appeared to be an uneasy truce. Never before do we remember senior ministers presenting themselves before the media and the country and making it appear like a joint communique".
