"I don't want to marry Abhay, as he is a cheat and cannot be trusted," were the words of Keta Mehta, fiancée of Abhay Gandhi.

Mehta who was questioned by the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Saturday told police that she and her family were so scared to talk to anyone and that's why they had been underground all this while.

Mehta who had voluntarily come forward to record her statement as a witness before DCB told cops that she was kept in the dark by Gandhi who had told her that he was into share trading. Mehta denied knowledge of Gandhi's scams and was let go by the sleuths after she got her statement recorded.

Meanwhile, Paras Gandhi, brother of Abhay, who was arrested by the DCB on Saturday, told the police that he and his family were hiding in places like Mount Abu, Jaipur, Delhi and Vadodara before being nabbed at Narol crossroads.

Police found that Paras has Rs4 lakh in his Bank of Baroda account while another account in HDFC Bank has Rs4,000. Incidentally, Paras had told the sleuths that he and his family were running short of cash and were forced to curb their expenses.

Paras is on a four-day police remand with the DCB. Sources also said that though Abhay is still on the run, he could be nabbed by the police soon based on the leads provided by Paras.
