BJP president Nitin Gadkari today described the naming of RSS functionary Indresh Kumar in the Ajmer blast case as "political conspiracy" to defame the Sangh.

"It is a political conspiracy hatched by Congress. The party was working on it for last few days and hence they have dragged the name of RSS," Gadkari told reporters at his residence in Nagpur.

To a question whether Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's remarks that SIMI and RSS were identical were any clue to the conspiracy, Gadkari said what Rahul has said was part of Congress policies.

On the ongoing Assembly elections in Bihar, Gadkari claimed that the BJP-JD(U) combine was all set to retain power and this issue would not affect the coalition's prospects in the state.

The UPA government while on one hand is yet to execute capital punishment to Parliament terror attack convict Afzal Guru, on the other hand it was defaming patriotic persons, Gadkari alleged.
