While Vishwa, Ronak and Kartik continue to remain missing from the city, another case of a lost child surfaced on Monday, this time of a 15-year-old boy, Sagar Patel, who has been missing since December 20 last year. However, according to Mukesh Patel, Sagar’s father, Adalaj police have allegedly refused to register a complaint in the matter.

Patel is a resident of Sughad village in Gandhinagar district.

"Forget about finding him, they (police) even refused to take my complaint and instead counseled me by stating that my son has made a habit of running away from home. It has been three months, but police has done nothing to help me," said a father, the owner of a chemical factory in Odhav, who is desperate to make police search for his lost child.

According to Patel, Sagar is a student of Class 10 in SGVP International School, SG Road. Being a brilliant student, he was even selected for a trip to Sweden in July 2011, where he met some other students of another school in Ahmedabad. Patel claims these students diverted Sagar’s attention from his studies and were also instrumental in running away from home, on two occasions earlier.

In his third attempt, he left home on December 20 but is yet to be traced," Patel said, adding that he had approached Adalaj police to file a complaint in the matter, but cops allegedly refused to do so.

    ‘Police are passing the buck’
Police played spoilsport on Sunday for K Rajendran, father to missing boy Kartik, who received a call from Sanand police informing him about a boy who matches his son's profile. When he tried to seek police help, he was allegedly taken for a ride by police who extended him help to get to the boy. At 10.30pm on Sunday, Rajendran was told by one Shaileshbhai of Sanand police that a boy was found near Mandal-Shankheshwar road by some shopkeepers. Since Rajendran was unsure if the boy found is his son, he sought the help of Sanand police, but they refused as that area did not fall in their area. “The boy was not my son. This was confirmed by police only on Monday,” he said.
