NRI commits suicide in Jalander

A non-resident Indian today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Guru Ravidas Mohalla here as two persons were arrested in this connection, police said.
    
Ved Parkash was found hanging from the ceiling fan in one of the rooms of his residence and neighbours informed the police.
    
Police said that during investigation, it was found that Parkash was settled in Dubai and came to India recently to attend the marriage of his sister-in-law.
    
They alleged that he was brutally beaten up by his brothers-in-law at the marriage due to some personal issues and they threatened him of dire consequences if he complained to the police.
    
Police said a case under section 306 of Indian Penal Code (abetment to suicide) was registered against the brother-in-laws -- Ram and Ram Lubhaya -- residents of Chak Sabu village, who are absconding.
