Soon, GU students will enjoy no-nail biting moments, thanks to the varsity’s innovative thinking. Students will no longer be frightened even after accidentally spilling water or tea on their mark-sheet. Reason? The Gujarat University (GU) is all set to launch water, chemical and damage proof mark-sheets.

As per the information shared by Dr Parimal Trivedi, vice chancellor of GU, the salient feature of such mark-sheets will be that the design and security measures will be difficult to replicate.

Dr Trivedi said that the varsity has added some new safety features in it like quality of paper which absorbs liquid and doesn’t allow it to reach the paper and spoil the data. Other features in the new mark-sheets include scratch resistance, difficult to tamper with, strain resistance and have anti- paste technology. “It is developed in a way that it will not be possible to copy or make duplicate copies of it. Also, it is non-toxic, bio-degradable and has 2D barcode which can score more data,” he said, adding that one mark-sheet would cost the varsity around Rs3.5 to Rs4.
