The authorities of SSG Hospital in Vadodara have deployed a mini ambulance for the internal commutation of the patients from one ward to the other inside the hospital premises.

This facility has been initiated to facilitate the patients, who were facing great difficulty in commuting from one place to other inside the hospital premises for various checkups and other necessary procedures.

Commutation within the hospital premises for patients has always been a major problem in most of the government hospitals of the state.

The unavailability of stretchers and wheel chairs has been a concern for the patients, when they had to travel inside the campus for investigations such as for X-ray and CT scans.
For patients and relatives, the improper maintenance of the commuting instruments has been a big worry.

The hospital installed an ambulance after there were lot of complaints from patients and relatives who had to be carried on ill-maintained stretchers and wheel chairs inside the hospital premises.

Talking to DNA, medical superintendent of SSG hospital, Dr AK Saxena said, "We have initiated the service, as the hospital campus is huge and they have to go from one place to other for various investigations. It was a difficult task for them, and identifying the issue, we have started the commutation service within the hospital campus."

The vehicle will be available at the medical emergency ward of the hospital, while the service will be provided free of cost to the
patients under treatment at the hospital.
