As suspense over arrest of PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani in the 2008 Bangalore serial blasts case continued, authorities today put up a notice before his camp at Anwarssery near here, asking the management to remove all non-regular inmates and also weapons.

The notice, signed by Tehesildar of Kunnathur taluk, asked them to fully comply with the prohibitory orders under IPC 144 in force in the area since yesterday.

Official sources said the notice was posted at the gate of the orphanage complex where Madani is camping, after its management refused to receive it by hand.

Meanwhile, home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan maintained it was for Karnataka police to decide on when to arrest the PDP leader and that the state police's role in the process was that of a facilitator.

"The arrest warrant is with the Karnataka police. The Karnataka police have to execute it and the Kerala police will extend all help", Balakrishnan told reporters in Kozhikode.

Meanwhile, a delegation of office-bearers of some Muslim organisations called on chief minister VS Achuthanandan in the state capital, seeking his intervention to ensure humanitarian consideration for Madani.

However, according to reliable sources, the chief minister declined to give a firm commitment to them on the issue.

Prohibitory orders were imposed in Mainagappally and Sasthamcotta panchayats, warning against grouping of five or more people.

A heavy contingent of police, including personnel of the Special Armed Battalion, had been deployed in the area since yesterday to meet the situation.

A team of Karnataka police had been camping in the district for the last six days to arrest Madani after his anticipatory bail plea was rejected last week by Karnataka high court.

Madani was also the main accused in the Coimbatore serial bomb blasts case in 1998, in which 58 people were killed, but he was acquitted by the trial court.
