Around 2,000 flat buyers, affected by quashing of land acquisition in NOIDA Extension, have moved Allahabad high court asking to be heard as the court decides on more farmers petitions, who have complained of inadequate compensation.

The application was moved by a newly-floated body, "NOIDA Extension Flat Buyers' Welfare Association" which has requested that while deciding petitions relating to acquisition of land in villages like Roza-Yaqoobpur and Bisrakh-Jalalpur, "they too be allowed to tell their side of the story", the applicants' lawyer SD Singh said.

The buyers contend that quashing of land acquisitions often makes them suffer for no fault of theirs.

The court had, on July 19, quashed the acquisition of nearly 600 hectare of land in Patwari village of Gautam Buddh Nagar district where a number of housing projects are underway.
