No headway: Ahmedabad cops quiz transgender Sonia’s close aides

The Ahmedabad city police have started zeroing in on some of the close aides of eunuch Sonia Masi for clues. Sonia was gunned down on Thursday night near Rupali cinema in Lal Darwaja area. The crime scene falls under Karanj police station.

So far, the police have questioned over two dozen eunuchs and detained one Yusuf, driver to Sonia. The police said Yusuf was a confidante of Sonia and he probably can throw some light in the case. They are also questioning two eunuchs, Nitu and Bhavna, considered to be close to the victim.

The investigators believe that the reason behind Sonia’s murder could be some property dispute. Besides, it has also been learnt that a couple of days ago, Sonia had threatened a political leader to expose him.

Around 8.15pm on Thursday, Sonia arrived at a shop run by Suresh Chauhan near Rupali cinema on her bike. According to cops, while she was paying to Chauhan she got engaged on her phone and suddenly there was a huge commotion.
