No anger against Bhagwat: BJP

BJP today said there was no confusion or anger in the party against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's claim in a recent interview that four central leaders were ruled out for the post of party president and it would be occupied by somebody from outside Delhi.

"There is no confusion, difference of opinion or anger in the BJP against Bhagwat. There is no (Sangh) interference in BJP affairs. He said BJP will take its own decisions," party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

Javadekar said RSS and BJP were one ideological family and described the Sangh as a "generating power house".

"Any dedicated member of the party who holds a primary membership is eligible to become President," he said.

There were reports earlier that a section of BJP leaders was unhappy with Bhagwat's comments in an interview to India Today in which he had said the party had told him Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, M Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar were not in the list of probables for the party president's post.

He also said the next BJP president would not be from Delhi (party's central leadership).

Reports said BJP leaders were furious that Bhagwat had shared these details with the media.
