All is not lost between Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his one-time powerful lieutenant Amar Singh. The residual warmth of their relationship has allowed Singh to continue as chairman of the parliamentary committee on health.
Of course, for Mulayam, there is another angle to this arrangement. If SP were to give up chairmanship of the health committee, it would benefit the Bahujan Samaj Party. Mulayam has, therefore, allowed the expelled leader to retain the post as an SP nominee.

“I had rung him up to convey my decision to step down from this post, but he has asked me to continue,” Singh said while confirming the arrangement.

But this seems to be a one-off arrangement, and there are no indications of any homecoming for Amar Singh at this stage.
