Mentally ill woman ends life

A body of a woman was found behind Bhavsar hostel in Naranpura area on Thursday morning. The Naranpura police registered a case of accidental death and commenced investigation in the matter.

However, primary police investigation revealed that Geeta Patel, 32, the victim, was mentally ill and had committed suicide by jumping into the water tank near a plot in Banganga apartments in Naranpura.

The police also recovered a suicide note from the spot which stated that Patel had taken the step because of her illness. Her body was fished out on Thursday morning. Geeta's husband Harshad trades in spare parts and was on a business tour in Rajasthan when the incident took place.
