Meet on climate change, environment held in Gujarat

A one-day seminar on the lack of implementation of the environmental laws, improper functioning of environment monitoring, lack of infrastructure and incorporation of the millet crop in the Food Security Bill, was held at the Gujarat Vidyapith, on Saturday.

The event was organised by Paryavaran Mitra, a voluntary organisation, and was part of a lecture series on climate change.

Experts from different fields are invited to make a presentation on topics related to environment. Present on the occasion was an audience of about 70 people inclusive of NGO workers, farmers, academicians and bureaucrats.

Guest speakers were Kanchi Kohli of the Kalpavriksh Environmental Action Group, N K Pathak, dean, School of Law, Nirma University, Gopal Shah, environmental consultant, Yogesh Pandya, safety, health and environment Organisation Bharuch, Ravindra Khimani, registrar, Gujarat Vidyapith, Ramesh Patel, SRISTI and Sushma Patel, naturopathy expert.
