Mayawati inaugurates various schemes worth Rs2,000 crore

The schemes include beautification and cleanliness project for Ghaziabad worth Rs36.21 crore, power projects worth Rs763 crore, water works for Lucknow worth Rs173 crore.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati today inaugurated various schemes worth Rs2,000 crore at a function to mark completion of four years in office.
   
The schemes include beautification and cleanliness project for Ghaziabad worth Rs36.21 crore, power projects worth Rs763 crore, water works for Lucknow worth Rs173 crore and foundation laying of six polytechnics to be constructed at the cost of Rs645 crore.
   
She also inaugurated parks named after many dalit icons and Congress leader Rajendra Kumari Bajpai, whose son and daughter-in-law are now members of the BSP.
   
On the occasion, she justified erecting parks and memorials after dalit icons saying that the expenditure on them had been merely 1% of the state's budget and that had been duly passed by the assembly.
   
The chief minister's family including her parents also attended the function. Mayawati was seen sitting with her neice and enjoying the various cultural programmes specially put up for the occasion.
