All India Forward Bloc today appealed to the Maoists to abjure violence, forgo arms and come forward for talks and said their notion of being able to bring about a revolution by attacking the government and the police was not right.

"The thinking of Maoists that they can bring about a revolution by attacking the government and the police is not right. In a democracy, there are ways to find out a solution to social and financial problems. Maoists should abjure violence and come forward for talks," AIFB national secretary Devarajan told reporters in Kochi.

On the Nuclear Liabilities Bill, he alleged that it would be a "liability for the nation". The proposed bill would only help private American nuclear companies reap profits, he alleged.

Devarajan also criticised the Centre for its rejection of a proposal by a Forward Bloc MP to declare the birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose as 'Desh Prem Diwas'. AIFB would organise nation-wide protests in this  connection, he said.

A mass convention will be organised in Delhi on May 4, he added.
