A person tried self-immolation in front of the commissioner of police (CP) office in Shahibaug for the reason that he was not able to repay the loan money.

In a shocking incident on Tuesday, a person tried self-immolation in front of the commissioner of police (CP) office in Shahibaug. The police arrested the man and registered a case of attempted suicide against him.
Hansa Prajapati shocked security staff at the CP office main gate when he poured kerosene over himself. The guards overcame him just as he was about to set himself ablaze. He was handed over to the Madhavpura police.
According to sources at Madhavpura police station, Prajapati was under heavy debt and his lenders were harassing him. Prajapati named Indraji and Dinesh Goswami as the duo who was troubling him. “They are demanding 20% monthly rate of interest from me and I am not able to pay the money to them,” Prajapati said in his statement to the police. He is a resident of Jivraj Park area and had taken Rs12 lakh from the two he named.
