Make probe report of Puducherry suicide case public: CPI

Pushparaj was a key witness in the alleged scam in purchase of helmets by the police department in 2007; he had committed suicide after deposing before CBI.

CPI today asked the government to make public the report submitted recently by the judicial committee which probed into circumstances that led to the alleged suicide by a government official last month.

N Kalainathan, MLA, and secretary of Puducherry unit of CPI said in a release here that Pushparaj, who was section a superintendent in police department and a key witness in the alleged scam in purchase of helmets by the department in 2007, had committed suicide after deposing before CBI, probing the case, at Chennai.

Kalainathan said Pushparaj committed suicide as he was allegedly threatened by some persons in the department.
