Major train mishap averted in Ghaziabad

A major tragedy was averted near Sahibabad village in the district when two youths informed the driver of a Delhi-bound train of fractured rails on the track.

Two youth Satyam and Vishal noticed the fracture in the rails yesterday evening around 7 pm and informed it to the driver of the Delhi-bound train which was coming on the same track, railway police said.

The driver applied the emergency brake and the accident was averted. The rails were fractured due to heavy rains, they said.

The traffic on the route was disrupted for three hours they said adding the restoration of the track was done within a few hours.
