Major explosion bid foiled in Orissa, 2 crude bombs found

The police Wednesday foiled a major explosion bid on the outskirts of this town after unearthing two powerful crude bombs.

The crude bombs were found near the Shiva temple at Khajuria under Goshani Nuagaon police station area during patrolling by police, they said.

One person was detained for questioning in connection with the incident and investigation was in progress, said inspector-in-charge J Biswajit.

The bombs were defused by the bomb disposal squad, he said.

Police suspected that some miscreants might have kept the crude bombs for a major blast.
