Maharashtra government planning to set up Technology University

As land and building are available with the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technology University, it has been proposed that the (new) University be set up there.

Maharashtra government was planning to set up a `Technology University' to ensure uniformity in the syllabus and improvement in conduct of examinations, said higher and technical education minister, Rajesh Tope.
    
"Such a university is needed to ensure uniform syllabus and improvement in exam system," Tope said.
    
Problems faced by non-aided engineering colleges will be solved soon, Tope said, after a meeting with association of managements of non-aided engineering colleges here yesterday.
    
"As land and building are available with the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technology University, it has been proposed that the (new) University be set up there," he said.
    
Issues such as salary hike in educational institutions after the implementation of sixth pay commission, parity in electricity bills of educational institutions with household consumers and exempting non-aided institutions from central entrance test process, were discussed in the meeting.
