Lucknow Development Authority cancels Aishbagh Towers scheme

An ambitious government housing scheme - Aishbagh Towers- launched on chief minister Mayawati's birthday by the LDA has been cancelled by the authority itself, official sources said in Lucknow on Sunday.

An ambitious government housing scheme - Aishbagh Towers- launched on chief minister Mayawati's birthday by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has been cancelled by the authority itself, official sources said in Lucknow on Sunday.

"The Aishbagh Towers scheme launched on January 15 has been cancelled," a release issued by LDA secretary Anand Kumar Singh said without citing any reasons for the cancellation.


The registration for the scheme is open till March 28 and over 1,500 people had got themselves registered to get a flat in the scheme.

Under the scheme, 564 flats have to be constructed in Aishbagh area of the city.

 LDA officials said that the money of those who applied for the scheme would be refunded within a month's time.
