The justice MS Liberhan commission of inquiry's report on the demolition of the Babri Masjid on Sunday, December 6, 1992, will be tabled in Parliament along with an action-taken report (ATR) during the budget session of Parliament.

Minister of state for parliamentary affairs V Narayanasami told reporters that a discussion on the report would be possible only after it was tabled in Parliament along with the ATR.

He said discussion on the report would be "meaningless" if it were to be held without the home ministry first considering the report and the recommendations made by the commission and the cabinet taking a decision on the matter.

Recalling that criminal cases are pending against BJP leaders like LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi and former BJP politician Uma Bharti, he said the session would see the
isolation of that party on the issue.

Narayanasami claimed that except for the Shiv Sena, no other party in the National Democratic Alliance led by the BJP would support that party. A "vast majority" in both Houses of Parliament would be against the BJP's role in the incident, he said.

Dismissing suggestions that the main opposition party would create trouble in Parliament, he said the ruling United Progressive Alliance would try to corner the BJP on the issue.
