Asserting that the party is averse to any form of politics on the issue of natural disaster, BJP today asked Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar to reconsider his decision of returning to his Gujarat counterpart the aid to the state during the 2008 Kosi floods.
"Kumar must reconsider his decision to return the Rs 5-crore Kosi relief fund received from Gujarat," state BJP vice president and spokesman Sanjay Maruk told reporters.
"The relief money was not from Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, but from the people of that state," he said, adding that BJP is against any form of politics on the issue of natural disaster.
"Whatever I said is the official line the party has taken on the issue," he said.
