Kerala police verifying reports on Headley's visit to Kochi

The state police is verifying documents at the airport on arrival of foreign passengers by domestic and international flights for the last three years.

Kerala police is looking into reports that Kochi was one of the places visited by American terror suspect David Headley before the Mumbai carnage.

Headley was arrested by US investigating agency FBI for planning terror attacks in India.

Director general of police Jacob Punnoose said central agencies investigating the case had so far not passed on any information on the matter to the state police.

However, state police was "verifying" reports including those in the media that Headley had stayed in a hotel in the city.

The state police is also verifying documents at the airport on arrival of foreign passengers by domestic and international flights for the last three years, he said.
