Kerala minister leaves for Air India Express accident site

Amid apprehensions that most victims of the aircraft crash at Mangalore are from Kerala's northern Kasaragod and Kannur districts, State health minister P K Sreemathi has left for the accident site.

Amid apprehensions that most victims of the aircraft crash at Mangalore are from Kerala's northern Kasaragod and Kannur districts, State health minister P K Sreemathi has left for the accident site.

"I am on way to the accident site as most victims of the Air India Express aircraft from Dubai could be residents of north Kerala,"  Sreemathi said en route to the mishap site.

Kasaragod MP P Karunakaran has also left for the site. 

Sizeable number of Gulf bound passengers from northern Kerala use the Bajpe airport in Mangalore, which operates daily fights to the Gulf destinations. The airport is around 60 KM from Kasaragod.
