Fresh wave of protests was triggered in Kashmir on Friday after a youth was critically injured when security forces opened fire on a mob at Warpora in Baramulla district.
Rameez Reshi, 22, was rushed to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science after he was hit by a bullet in his head. “He is critical and has been put on ventilator,” Dr Syed Amin Tabish said.

“The situation largely remained peaceful on Friday barring a few violations of curfew and stray stone pelting in Shopian and Warpora,” police said.
Security forces were told to remain vigilant since a large congregations were expected in mosques. For the first time in 20 years, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed.
