Nine persons were injured when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus turned turtle near Tavarekere, about 70km from here today, police said.

The injured, including the driver of the bus, have been admitted to government hospital in Sira, superintendent of police PC Harsha told PTI.

The mishap occurred when the driver of the bus from Mudargi in Raichur district to Bangalore, while trying to park near a Dhaba, lost control and the bus turned turtle.

Meanwhile, in another mishap, three persons were killed on the spot and two in hospital and 13 injured in a collision between a iron-ore laden lorry and Tata Ace (SUV) in Gadag (north Karnataka) last night, police said.

The accident occurred when the Tata Ace which was proceeding from Hulkoti to Gadag carrying 18 passengers collided with the lorry, police said.

The deceased were identified as : Shambhu, 28, Ravi, 32, Kiran, 13, Lakshman and Siddalingappa, 29.

The injured have been admitted to government hospitals in Hubli and Gadag and "are recovering", police said.
