Kangaroo court punishes Bihar speaker's aide

JD(U) activist Lakhan Lal Verma was beaten with sticks and he suffered broken legs in the incident which took place last evening in the forest under Dumaria police station in Bihar's Gaya district.

A kangaroo court of the Maoists thrashed JD(U) activist Lakhan Lal Verma, a close aide of Bihar assembly speaker UN Choudhary, in front of villagers and TV crew in Dumaria.

Verma was beaten with sticks and he suffered broken legs in the incident which took place last evening in the forest under Dumaria police station in Bihar's Gaya district.
 
Verma, a resident of Koiridih village of Imamganj block in the district was abducted by the Maoists from Maigra bazar on Thursday for allegedly usurping the land of a villager and demolishing his house, SSP Amit Lodha confirmed.
 
The footages of the incident were beamed on local TV channels.
Verma and his family members reportedly refused to go to police station to lodge a complaint fearing Maoist attack.
