The Delhi high court, in its final verdict, has ruled that whistle-blower deputy chairman of Kandla Port Trust, Manoranjan Kumar, can continue on the post he is deputed for, due to his repatriation by the union shipping ministry to the central department of textiles.

"Yes, our order of August 8, repatriating Manoranjan Kumar to his parent department, has been upheld by the Delhi high court in its final verdict on Monday. The two-member bench of the high court set aside the very order of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) which allowed him to continue on the post after quashing our repatriating order of 2008," said Rakesh Srivastava, Delhi-based joint secretary (ports) in the union ministry of shipping told DNA. "Since our order stands implemented from retrospective date, Kumar ceases to be on deputation of Kandla Port Trust," he said.

When asked as to what will happen of his drawing salary and other allowances as deputationist of KPT in the past two years, Srivastava said that action will be taken as per the law, after fully studying the verdict of the Delhi high court.
