Journalism is close to my heart: Ambika Soni

The union and broadcasting minister said she would have become a journalist if she hadn't joined politics at an address to a Punjabi journalists' group.

"If I would not have joined politics, I would have become a journalist," union information and broadcasting minister Ambika Soni said today.
      
"Journalism has always fascinated me and is close to my heart," she said at the annual meet of the Chandigarh Punjab Unit of Journalists here.
      
"I would have certainly become a journalist if I had not joined politics," the minister said.
      
She also talked about the "love-hate" relationship between the scribes and politicians.
      
"We share love-hate relationship, but yet we are interdependent and cannot do without each other," Soni said.
      
"You always look to make headlines from our mistakes," she said in a lighter vein.
