Praful and Shantilal Vaghela, fathers of Dipesh, 13, and Abhishek, 12 who were found dead near Asaram gurukul in July 2008, resumed their fast on Saturday itself after being discharged from Civil Hospital. Earlier in the day, the police had taken them forcibly to the hospital to end their fast.

The human rights organisation, Jan Sangharsh Manch (JSM), has extended its full support to the Vaghela family in its quest for justice. The organisation will be writing to the DGP of Gujarat regarding the alleged abduction and assault on Praful and Shantilal Vaghela by the police on Saturday.

JSM also plans to organise a rally in the area in a day or two to generate public support for the Vaghela family's demand for justice. Talking to reporters, advocate Mukul Sinha of JSM said that the rally will be held in a day or two.

"We had suggested that local leaders take the responsibility of building support for the Vaghelas by making people aware of the delay in justice to the family," he said.

The rally will be held in the Naranpura near Madhav Baugh society. "The Vaghelas are ready for their next battle for justice as chief minister Narendra Modi has failed to deliver on his promise," a resident of the locality told DNA.

The two Vaghela brothers were picked up by the police and admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Civil Hospital on Saturday ostensibly to end their fast against the state government.
