Criticising the BJP for its "negative" statements on Kashmir issue, JKLF chief Yaseen Malik today wondered how the party could forget that it had started the dialogue process with the separatists.

"If the dialogue process was started by BJP, what is the meaning of negative statements and threats?" he said addressing a public meeting at Yaripora in Kulgam, 70 kms from here in south Kashmir.

"All parties in India should rise above political considerations and give up traditional rigidity to help in finding a solution of Kashmir issue," he said.

Malik expressed the hope that BJP and its like-minded parties "will bring a positive change in their thinking towards Kashmir and extend support in efforts aimed at resolution of the issue, which is key to the peace and prosperity in the South Asian region".

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been demanding abrogation of Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Malik said it was the BJP which started the dialogue process to push forward for a resolution to Kashmir issue.

"Who started the Lahore bus service?" he said and also reminded the party of its efforts to start a dialogue with
militant outfits during NDA rule.
