Five activists of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, including its secretary, were today detained by police when they were holding a news conference here.

In the morning, police raided a local hotel, the venue of the conference, and took into custody four activists - Mohammad Maqbool, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Sofi Jehangir and Ghulam Nabi Ganai, official sources said.

Police, however, gave no reason for their detention.
