Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra and the Raj Bhavan staff today donated Rs1,06,700 for the cloudburst-devastated Leh district of Ladakh.

The amount has been sent to the chief minister's relief fund for utilising it for the welfare of the flood-hit people of Leh, an official spokesman said.

He said the amount was contributed voluntarily by the Raj Bhavan staff in response to the chief minister's appeal for contributions.

Yesterday, new and renewable energy minister Farooq Abdullah donated Rs50 lakh from his MPLAD fund for the relief work.

Relief work is still continuing in Leh after a cloudburst on August 5 caused flash floods there killing about 180 people and leaving hundreds of others homeless.
