The 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway will be closed for two days starting today for vehicular traffic due to repairs on a patch of road which was washed away by flash floods in Ramban district.

The highway will remain closed for two days from today as a 20-feet portion of the highway has been washed away by flash floods at Kunfur Nallah in Chanderkote, about 135 kms from Jammu, police officers said.

A part of the highway was washed away by the flash floods triggered by heavy rains on February 9, they said, adding it has been closed for undertaking repairs and is likely to be completed by tomorrow evening, they said.

Men and machines of Border Roads Organisation have started repairing work on the highway, they said.
