ISKCON rocks with youth festival in Ahmedabad

With a view to educate the youth on how to be happy, a maha youth festival was held at ISKCON temple in Ahmedabad on Saturday. With more than 1,500 registrations from youngsters, the event was a huge hit. The main attraction was the rock show. The three-hour programme also included a seminar and drama.

Speaking to DNA, the public relations officer, Daamodara Dhananjay Daas said, "This is the second time we are organising a youth festival. But this time it is on a larger scale with more participation. The main goal of the event is to educate youngsters and provide them proper education on how to be happy."

The seminar was enjoyed by the youth where an interesting discourse was delivered on the topic 'Naam, Nami and tsunami', where the youth were educated on how to escape calamities through Vedic ways. The informative drama on Indian culture performed by professional artistes also appealed to many. 

In the rock show, artistes sung songs in praise of Krishna. Youth and devotees enjoyed the music and also danced with full energy.

Talking about the rock show, Daas said, "The trend was started by one of the members of the Beatles band, George Harrison. He used to compose songs on Krishna and sing them with music."
