Interlocutor meets ULFA chairman in Guwahati

Centre's interlocutor PC Haldar discussed the process to intiate peace talks with the proscribed ULFA during an hour-long meeting with the outfit's jailed chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa in Guwahati central jail .

Haldar, who is on a three-day visit to Assam, also met prominent litterateur Indira Goswami also member of Assam Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan, a forum of senior citizens to help in the process of peace talks.

Emerging out of the two meetings Haldar said he was 'satisfied' with the talks and hoped that the peace process will be initiated soon.

He had met top government and police officials on the talks issue during the past two days.
