Indian fishermen allegedly attacked by Sri Lankan Navy

Sri Lankan Navy personnel allegedly attacked fishermen from here and Mandapam who went for fishing in the sea near Katchativu and Dhanushkodi, fishermen association president NJ Bose said today.
    
He said 25 fishermen suffered injuries in the attack and were admitted to a private hospital here. Three boats were damaged in the attack and fishing nets and fish catch worth about Rs40 lakh were lost in the incident, he said.
     
The damaged fishing boats were towed to Rameswaram island.
